ABOUT MOVEMENT LOFT DANCE COMPANY

Movement Loft Dance Company is a recreational dance company formed to provide adults of all ages and backgrounds performance opportunities.

Our programming is designed to support the whole artist: providing access to classes and workshops to improve technique; social experiences to build community through art; and public performance opportunities that enrich our community by making dance accessible.

All of our members are non-professional recreational dancers who have experience with dance, and a strong desire to grow artistically, technically and personally. And above all- want to have FUN!

About the 2025/2026 Winter Mini Season (casting closes 11/9/25)

NOW CASTING! MLDC presents Love Uncovered: a burlesque showcase

performance on February 7, 2026 at the Movement Loft speakeasy

This showcase features sensual and burlesque-style choreography. Solos, small groups (duets + trios) as well as an all-cast piece are open for casting.

HOW IT WORKS: All dancers that wish to participate are required to sign up for the season, and are required to apply for one or more parts. Dancers are able to apply for more than one part; including solos, small groups or the all-cast piece.

All soloists and small groups will be required to apply with their concept or theme. Our committee will review each application and provide acceptance on a rolling basis. Application form will be sent upon sign up. CASTING CLOSES 11/9.

CHOREOGRAPHIC PROCESS: All soloists and small groups will be matched with and receive 3 coaching sessions from our Mentorship staff throughout the choreographic process. Dancers are also required to schedule a minimum of three (3) in-studio rehearsal one (1) hour times, and are encouraged to practice outside of the studio or book additional studio hours.

First all-cast meeting will be Wednesday, 11/12 at 7pm. Individual rehearsals will be booked by the dancer via our private rehearsal calendar link. A 4 month commitment required for all dancers 11/1/25-2/28/2026. All sales final.

Commitment:

You do not need to have performed professionally before, however you will need to be familiar with dance terminology and learning choreography. You will also need to be comfortable with performing publicly.

During this season our goal is to develop and grow our dancers artistically, providing opportunities to expand your technique, focus, dedication and passion for the art.

• MLDC Members commit to performing in a minimum of 1 piece per season

• MLDC Members attend at least 80% of rehearsals

• MLDC Members should be actively taking classes to improve technique and skills

• MLDC Members will be cast in one showcase show, and in the Command Performance

• All payments must be made on date of autodraft. A 6-month commitment is required for full-season members, 4-month for winter members. Pre-payment for the entire season can be made.

• New prospective members must attend a minimum of 3 classes at the Movement Loft and attend placement in order to join the company
