WHAT TO EXPECT

Led by Nicole Rusli and Alisha Heilman, co-artistic directors and choreographers for the Summer/Fall 2024 season, June-Sept, 2024.

Our full-length production features choreography from 5+ choreographers with a mix of styles to pick from including contemporary, jazz, hip hop and more.

At the end of our rehearsal season, you will perform the work at a full-length production at a local performance venue - where you will be able to invite friends and family to watch the performance.

• Includes 4-month Movement Club subscription (unlimited monthly membership) to Movement Loft classes

• Learn choreography and perform in our Fall command performance

• Weekly rehearsals (will vary based on individual)

• Recorded sessions + open floor hours to help with learning/retaining choreo

HOW TO PREPARE

Open level prep classes + info sessions are held Monday 5/13 and Monday 5/20. It is not required, but is highly encouraged to attend one of these sessions.

All dancers who are planning to join ML Dance Co. will need to attend the Open Casting Session on 6/1.

During this session we will match dancers with styles/ choreographers and place you into pieces. If you are unavailable for this date, please email movementloft@gmail.com to make alternate arrangements.

HOW TO SIGN UP:

Step 1: Sign up for the prep session of your choice (you only need to attend one)

Step 2: Register + pay for for the Dance Co. to receive your onboarding packet

Step 3: Attend open casting to meet the choreographers other company members and be cast into the show

REHEARSAL + PERFORMANCE DETAILS:

We will begin rehearsals on June 6, and run weekly every Thursday from 8-9:15pm.

You are not required to attend all rehearsals, but we recommend attending as many as possible so that you are prepared to perform in the showcase. Small group rehearsals may not require all ensemble members to attend. Not all members will rehearse every week, rehearsal schedule may vary per individual.

All dancers enrolled in this program are expected to perform in the showcase.

Program cost is $499 and includes 4 months of unlimited access to Movement Loft classes, weekly classes, open floor rehearsal time, opportunity to perform in showcase and at other performance venues around DFW, and more. Payment plans are available.

WHO IS THIS FOR

This Dance Company is recommended for recreational dancers who have experience with dance, and a strong desire to grow artistically, technically and personally.

You do not need to have performed professionally before, however you will need to be familiar with dance terminology and learning choreography. You will also need to be comfortable with performing publicly.

During this season our goal is to develop and grow our dancers artistically, providing opportunities to expand your technique, focus, dedication and passion for the art.

ABOUT THE Show:

Our recital will take place on in October 2024 at a public performance venue. Our theme is a modern take on some of your favorite storybook tales, set to a range of genres of dance including contemporary, hip hop, jazz and more.

The entire choreographic piece will be full-length with an intermission in between sets. After the show, all are invited to stay for a reception with the dancers and artists.

We will provide each dancer with two comp tickets for the showcase. Additional tickets can be purchased by the general public. The show is open to the public, and you are encouraged to invite your family and friends to attend and enjoy.
